Song Da Coporation is the EPC General Contractor of Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project (HPP) and 230kV transmission line from Xekaman 1 HPP to Bo Y – Kon Tum border gate.

On August 10, 2016, in Attapeu – Laos, Xekaman 1 Power Company Limited (under Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company) and Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) successfully put the 230kV transmission line into operartion.

This transmission system consists of 2 parts:

Part on Vietnamese territory: From Pleiku 2 substation to Bo Y border gate in Kon Tum Province with length of 119,23 km invested by EVN.

Part on Lao territory: From Vietnam – Lao border to Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant with length of 70,76km invested by Xekaman 1 Power Compan Limited – Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company.

230kV switchyard – Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project

Almost 90% of power output of Xekaman 1 HPP shall be supplied to Vietnam’s Grid via Xekaman 1-Pleiku 2 transmission system. Furthermore, 230kV switchyard also functions to deliver power of other HPPs in the South of Laos to VietNam when operational.

On August 12, 2016, Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant invested by Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company started the Unit 1 without loads. All the parametes satisified design requirements.

Unit 1 of Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant has design capacity of  145MW out of 326MW of Xekaman 1 HPP. All the electro-mechanical equipments of Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant (290MW) and Xekaman XanXay (36MW) are supplied by ANDRITZ Hydro  from Austria – one of the leading electro – mechanical supplier in the world.

Currently, AH experts and the Employer are urgently completing the next commissioning to soon put the Unit 1 into opeartion in August, 2016.

Once operational, Xekaman 1 HPP will generate 1,3 billion kwh/year, of which, 90% will be exported to Viet Nam, ensuring the energy security of the Country.
